Production Philosophy

Producing quality products in a timely manner drives our productions process. Valley Oak Cabinet Doors consistently leads the industry in lead times for producing quality components from select and better northern hardwoods. Valley Oak provides the same production process no matter what wood selection that you choose and all components are cut after we receive your order assuring consistent wood throughout. Our production process includes machine sanding both the front and backs of doors, panel profiles and outside edges. In addition we manually sand the face of all doors, drawer fronts and various profiles at 180 grit. Though our customers spend little or no time sanding, for optimal finish results we recommend you sand product to your final sanding standards.

Solid Wood Product Selection Guide

1) Premium - Wood will be selected for optimum color for the specie selected. Color and grain matching will be done throughout the order. Mineral streaks on the face of the door will be less than 1/16" wide and 2" long. Mineral on machined areas will have less than 1/8" wide and 3" long.

2) Standard - This is the standard we have used in the past. Wood will be selected for color throughout the order having the natural characteristics of the wood specie ordered. Mineral allowed on the face will be less than 1/8" wide and 4" long. Slight variations in color and grain standard.

3) Factory - Wood used in this grade would not meet our Premium or STandard standards. All characteristics of the specie are allowable. Only pin knots will be allowed. Color and grain match is not considered in the manufacturing process.

4) Rustic - All characteristics of the wood selected is allowable. Knots used will be structurally sound and vary throughout each order.

5) Flat Panel - All 1/4" panels are AA grade veneer front and back with a MDF core. This provides a much better product to finish and helps eliminate the rattle found in plywood core doors.
